Baby Things

Welcome To Baby Things

.
From the time you find out you are pregnant you now have a checklist that needs to be done before the baby arrives. This includes picking a name and shopping for baby things.

It is a great idea to start aquiring items as soon as possible because once the baby arrives you will not have much time for shopping. You will be very busy with the day to day task of raising a baby.

Here is a quick list of baby things you will need before the baby is born.

Baby Things
Baby Things 1
- Car Seat: This will probably be the most time consuming thing to shop for, but also the most important. You basically have 2 choices when choosing a car seat.
1- A seat that just stays in the car and is a pain to remove.
2- A car seat – stroller combo. These come with a base that mounts in the car and the car seat snaps into the base then unlatches and can be carried by itself or attached to the stroller. These are very handy and are a must have. If your baby is asleep in the car you do not have to wake them just to get them out of the car. Which when you are a tired parent is priceless.
Baby Things 2
- Crib: A crib is probably the second most important thing you can buy. This is most likely the most expensive thing also. You can save money in the long term by spending a little more now and having a bed for your child for years to come. What I’m talking about is a crib that converts into a toddler bed. Usually when you buy a crib the mattress is not included so here is a list of things that you will need with the crib.
1- Mattress
2- Mattress pads (These are a water proof sheet that goes around the mattress.)
3- Sheets
4- A mixture of blankets from light to medium at least. The younger the baby the thinner the blanket you want to avoid any possible problems.
Baby Things 3
- Diaper Stuff: This is really a personal preference on the brand of diapers you wish to use. Keep in mind though that some diapers don’t agree with some babies. If you are noticing a rash that will not go away by using rash cream it will not hurt to try a different brand of diapers to see if it helps. So here is a list of diaper stuff that you should have ready for the baby.
1- Diapers
2- Wipes
3- Rash Cream
4- Changing Pad
5- Coupons Yes this is a must have. Diapers can get expensive quick. You can find diaper coupons all over the internet just by going to google and typing in *brand” diaper coupons.
Baby Things 4
- Bath Items: You can buy a packaged bath kit that contains most accessories that you will need. You will need to have the following items in the kit or you can buy them separately.
1- Bath tub
2- Shampoo
3- Thermometer
4- Comb / Brush
5- Scissors
6- Nail Clippers
7- Baby Lotion
8- Baby Oil
9- Towels/Wash Cloths
10- Laundry Detergent
11- New Born First Aid Kit
Baby Things 5
- Baby Clothes: Babies grow fast… Way to fast! You till want to try and spend as little money on clothes as possible as they will not last long. Here is a minimum list of clothes that you have to have.
1- 7 Onsies (0-3 months)
2- 4 Stretch suits
3- 1 Snow Suit
4- A pack of socks
5- A pair of mittens
6- A couple Hats
7- 4 Receiving Blankets
8- 2 Thick Blankets
9- 3-4 Bibs
Baby Things 6
- Food: This will depend on whether you want to breast or bottle feed.

If you are breast feeding then you will need
1- Breast Pump
2- Nursing Bras
3- Breast Pads
4- Nipple Cream

If you are going to bottle feed then you will need.
1- At least 6 bottles
2- Sterilizing Equipment
3- Bottle Brush
4- Bottle Warmer
5- Formula – Check with your doctor for the best formula for your baby.
Baby Things 7
- Medicines: This is a gray area and you should consult your doctor for anything to need for the baby. Here is a basic list of things that are handy to have around the house.
1- Rubbing Alcohol
2- Cotton Swabs
3- Infant Tylenol
4- Mylicon for gas relief
Baby Things 8
- TOYS!!!! Here is a list of toys that will help not only keep your baby occupied but also stimulate there brain.
1- Bouncer- You can get these pretty cheap and they have lots of little toys and noise makers around the outside edge that babies love.
2- Swing- This can be a little swinging bassinet type thing. While there are usually no toys on this it is great to get a fussy baby to go to sleep.
3- Pacifiers- This is a personal choice as some parents do not like to use them.
4- Soft Blocks- Kids seem to love these. They may not be able to use them right away but trust me I’ve never met a baby that didn’t like them.

Now get the baby things you need.
